  • 156 Warrego Drive: Bold Design, Beautifully Finished

156 Warrego Drive, Pelican Waters · Completed September 2026

Seven bedrooms, a dedicated media room and a bold architectural design—156 Warrego Drive was a home with plenty of personality and plenty of painting. From the charcoal exterior and striking orange accents to the expansive interior walls, this Pelican Waters project gave us plenty to be proud of.

    Bold design, carefully finished

The exterior makes a confident statement, with strong lines and contrasting colours. Inside, the use of commercial skirting boards is a brilliant design detail, giving the rooms a distinctive edge. The timber staircase, generous glazing and open living spaces bring warmth and light into the home.

With a house of this scale, consistency matters. The finish needs to carry through the bedrooms, living areas, doorways and connecting spaces, bringing all those individual surfaces together.

Seven bedrooms—and a serious stack of doors

The stack of doors waiting to go back on was ginormous. Looking at them all together, you could easily wonder where they were all going to fit. Once they were hung, though, the house simply absorbed them. There was so much space that the number of doors didn’t even seem excessive!

Alongside the seven bedrooms, the dedicated media room was painted black for a blackout look—a bold contrast to the lighter spaces elsewhere in the home.

    Behind the finish

These progress photos show a little of the work behind the result, from the exterior painting to that memorable line-up of doors.

The compliment that stayed with us

The clients were so pleased that the owner went out of his way to express his appreciation for our work, the finished result and the attention to detail. What really stayed with us was his praise for the walls.

The walls! It’s not often we get recognised specifically for the walls.

They cover so much of a home, yet a beautifully finished wall can quietly disappear into the overall design. To have the client notice and take the time to tell us meant a great deal. Those are the moments that make us proud of what we do.

  • Display Home Quality in Pelican Waters: 160 Warrego Drive

This summer 2025 project at 160 Warrego Drive, Pelican Waters, marked one of our first grand projects for Platinum Residential Designer Homes. Originally designed as a display home, it was subsequently sold—but its original purpose set the tone for the painting: considered finishes, attention to detail and a result that complements the architecture.

For us at Reveal Painting, this project brought together the things we enjoy most: detailed new-home painting, a distinctive decorative finish and an interior paint upgrade that we believe was well worth the investment.

    The finished home

A finish that complements the architecture

An exposed timber staircase and elevated gangway create a striking centrepiece around the home’s spectacular double-height void. Glass balustrades keep the views open, while generous white surfaces, warm timber tones and dark window frames give the space its character. The home also includes a lift. With natural light reaching across the tall walls, the painted finish provides a calm, cohesive backdrop to these architectural features.

A quality finish needs to feel consistent from room to room: where a wall meets a ceiling, around a doorway, along the skirting and through the quieter spaces beyond the main living area.

A timber look, created over FC sheet

One of the standout details is the rear feature wall. What reads as timber is a faux timber stain finish over fibre cement (FC) sheet. It adds warmth and character to the elevation, contrasting with the white framing and dark glazing.

It’s a good example of how a decorative paint finish can become part of the design itself, giving a surface a very different presence.

Why we rated the Porter’s paint upgrade

The interior was upgraded to Porter’s paint. Our verdict from working with it on this home? Absolutely worth the extra money—particularly for touch-ups and washability.

A finish needs to work beyond the handover photographs. Being able to attend to marks and touch up a surface matters in a home that will be lived in. For us, those practical qualities made this a worthwhile upgrade, alongside the finished appearance.

    The work before the reveal

The finished photographs tell only part of the story. Before the styling and handover comes the preparation: checking surfaces, attending to joins and imperfections, protecting surrounding finishes and preparing each area for its coating system.

Our approach is to give these stages the attention they deserve. High ceilings, stairwells and open voids require care and planning, just as the smaller details do. The aim is a cohesive finish throughout the home.

    Quality in every room

The same care belongs in the bedrooms, hallways and upstairs landing as in the rooms that make the first impression. These are the spaces you see and use every day, and they deserve to feel just as complete.

Bring display-home quality to your new build

If you’re planning a new home in Pelican Waters or elsewhere on the Sunshine Coast, make the painting finish part of the conversation with your builder early. Talk about the standard you expect, the details that matter to you and who will carry out the work.

We’re Terence and Vanessa, the team behind Reveal Painting. We work with builders and homeowners who value careful workmanship and a home that feels finished down to the details.

  • A New Chapter: Our Painting Journey Through 2024–2025

Some changes in a business happen one home at a time. For us, 2024–2025 marked a new chapter for Reveal Painting: new relationships with builders, more distinctive homes and a growing sense that the care we put into our work was being recognised.

Since 2023, our work had begun moving beyond the standard spec homes that had kept us busy, towards projects with more individual character. We had always taken pride in our painting. What changed was the opportunity to bring that same standard to homes where the finish was an important part of the whole design.

Early 2024: a home for Hepner

Single-storey skillion-roof home painted by Reveal Painting for Hepner Homes

An early milestone was this single-storey, skillion-roof home for Hepner Homes in early 2024. Its clean roofline, light exterior and contrasting garage door gave it a character of its own.

From our experience working with them, Hepner are a great local builder: honest, straightforward and committed to the integrity of the build. Those qualities matter to us. It is satisfying to contribute our part when the care starts well before the painting does.

    Our first projects with Platinum

Next came the beginning of our relationship with Platinum Residential Designer Homes, a Sunshine Coast builder with an established record of building awards. Our first work with them was on a development of eight terraces. We painted six of the eight homes.

The photographs show the development taking shape and the finished result: crisp white surfaces, dark screening, timber accents and bright interiors. Across six homes, the satisfaction came from bringing consistency to the painting while allowing the architecture and materials to speak for themselves.

For us, being trusted with those first projects meant a great deal. It was the start of a working relationship in which we could bring our standards to increasingly individual homes.

A Hamptons home on the waterfront

Our first standalone house for Platinum followed on South Diamond Drive, on the waterfront in Pelican Waters. This Hamptons-style home brought a different character again, with its gabled roofline, soft exterior colours and white detailing.

It was another meaningful step for us. Seeing our painting become part of a home like this gave us a lasting sense of accomplishment—and made us look forward to what we could work on next.

The pride is in the details

Staircase and hallway during preparation before painting

Our standards had not changed, but the opportunity to see those details appreciated had. There is a particular satisfaction in finishing a home when the builder values the care that has gone into it.

Much of that care happens before the finished photographs: preparing surfaces, working through the details and giving the quieter parts of a home the same attention as the spaces that make the first impression. That has always mattered to us, whatever the size or style of the project.

    The people behind the painting

Of course, working together is not all serious faces and perfectly straight lines. There is room for Vanessa to strike a pose—and for a photo with a rather recognisable dog.

We have used Dulux paints for years, so the Dulux dog deserves a place in the story too. These little moments are part of the enjoyment we get from life as a husband-and-wife painting team.

Looking back at this chapter, what stays with us is the trust, the relationships and the feeling of leaving behind work we are proud of. The homes became more varied, and our belief in what we could bring to them grew.

We’re Terence and Vanessa, Reveal Painting. If you are planning a new home on the Sunshine Coast and care about the finish as much as the design, we would love to hear about it.

  • On Its Way to Something Stunning

We recently wrapped up a stunning home build that perfectly blends thoughtful design with practical, beautiful living. This multi-generational home features a horseshoe layout, wrapping around a generous size pool and outdoor living space.

The vaulted ceilings create an incredible sense of openness, flooding the main living and kitchen area with natural light and making the space feel bright and inviting. In the master bedroom, a feature timber screen was introduced to add warmth and character, creating a rich, textured focal point. And the media room? Well, they went all in—black ceilings, black walls, black skirting boards, even the inside of the door—completely blacked out for the ultimate cinematic experience.

Designed to accommodate extended families, the home includes ensuites to multiple bedrooms, ensuring comfort and independence for all residents. Every detail was carefully considered to create a space that feels both luxurious and deeply functional.

It’s always rewarding to see a vision come to life, and this project was a great example of how intentional design can shape the way we live.

  • Modern Coastal Colours

This beautiful new build in the heart of the Sunshine Coast showcases the power of clean, contemporary paint finish.

Completed in partnership with SX Homes in April 2023, this home was brought to life with a fresh palette of crisp whites and bold charcoal contrasts—perfectly highlighting its modern coastal architecture.

The Reveal Painting team took great care with every detail, from the vertical cladding to the rendered garage and feature columns. The sharp lines, high windows, and mix of textures were all enhanced by our precise application techniques and high-quality materials. The result? A striking street presence that complements the home’s architectural form and elevates its overall curb appeal.

Our clients wanted a finish that would feel timeless, stylish, and durable enough for the Queensland elements—and we delivered. The final result is a perfect reflection of the builder’s vision and the homeowner’s lifestyle.

We’re proud to add this project to our portfolio of standout Sunshine Coast homes. If you’re looking for a team that combines skill, experience, and attention to detail, get in touch with Reveal Painting today.

At Reveal Painting, we understand that a home’s true beauty lies in the details. Our collaboration with Roonsleigh Homes on the 32 Skyline project in Palmwoods exemplifies this philosophy.

This lowset, skillion-roof residence showcases a harmonious blend of textures and tones. The exterior features a serene ‘Tranquil Retreat’ render, complemented by Colorbond Ironstone weatherboards, creating a modern yet inviting façade.

  • Fresh Paint for this Bayonne Beauty

Just finished up another fantastic painting project for Roonsleigh Homes, and we had to share a sneak peek!

This build was on a cool sloping block with a walkout basement (Bayonne dr) – the design by Roonsleigh Homes is seriously impressive, making the most of those awesome views. They even included a granny flat/rental on the upper level! (Smart these days)

While Roonsleigh Homes nailed the design and build, our part was bringing it all to life with a fresh coat of paint. We focused on the exterior, carefully prepping and painting all that beautiful wooden paneling. Our goal was to enhance the modern aesthetic and ensure a smooth, durable finish that really makes the architectural details pop.

Inside, we worked our magic to create bright and inviting spaces. Even details like the timber screen got our expert touch. It’s all about making sure the paintwork complements the overall design and stands up to the elements (and everyday life!).

We love partnering with Roonsleigh Homes on these projects. Their designs are always top-notch, and it’s a real pleasure to add the finishing touch with our painting expertise. If you’re a builder or homeowner looking for quality painters who pay attention to detail, get in touch – we’d love to collaborate on your next project!

  • What a Year! 2022 Wrapped

2022 was one of those years that just flew by—and looking back, it’s no wonder. We were flat out! From one job to the next, it felt like we barely had time to stop and take it all in. But when we did, we realised how proud we are of everything we accomplished.

We worked on so many great homes and projects last year. Some were big, some were small, but all of them were treated with the same level of care (and maybe just a little bit of our trademark fussiness). Whether it was crisp, clean lines, silky smooth doors, or making the timber deck look brand new —we gave it our all.

At Reveal Painting, we’ve always believed that a great paint job isn’t about what you can see, but what you can’t. No drips, no brush marks, no shortcuts. It’s all the unseen prep work—the filling, sanding, priming, and sealing—that makes the final coat look so sharp.

We’ve been doing this since 2004, and every year we learn something new. 2022 reminded us just how much we love what we do. There’s nothing quite like stepping back at the end of a job and seeing a space completely transformed. That feeling never gets old.

So, thanks to everyone who had us paint their home last year. We’re grateful for your trust and proud of the results. Bring on the next chapter—fresh paint, fresh challenges, and (hopefully) a bit more time to share what we’re working on!

  • One of the Best They’ve Ever Seen – We’ll Take That!

This one was a real standout for us— A Half Skillion? A modern home with bold lines, clean edges, and soft curves in all the right places. It’s the kind of project that makes us pause mid-job and say, yep, this is going to look unreal once it’s done.

The design itself was clean and modern with a few standout features that made it a bit different to your usual new build. One of the first things you’ll noticed is the soffits—they aren’t your standard white! Instead, they are a grey tone that really worked with the exterior palette and complemented the stonework on the front façade. Just those small touches made the whole place feel more considered and finished.

Inside, the homeowners were very happy with how everything turned out—which is always great to hear. They actually said it was one of the best paint finishes they’d ever seen, and that’s not something we take lightly.

There were some nice details to work with too. VJ panelling on feature walls added depth and texture throughout, and the media room had a bold feature colour that gave the space a cosy, cinematic feel. It’s always fun to work on homes where the owners aren’t afraid to add a bit of personality.

Big thanks to SX Homes for having us on another quality build, and to the owners for their kind words. Always good to walk away from a job knowing everyone’s wrapped with the result.
