Some changes in a business happen one home at a time. For us, 2024–2025 marked a new chapter for Reveal Painting: new relationships with builders, more distinctive homes and a growing sense that the care we put into our work was being recognised.
Since 2023, our work had begun moving beyond the standard spec homes that had kept us busy, towards projects with more individual character. We had always taken pride in our painting. What changed was the opportunity to bring that same standard to homes where the finish was an important part of the whole design.
Early 2024: a home for Hepner

An early milestone was this single-storey, skillion-roof home for Hepner Homes in early 2024. Its clean roofline, light exterior and contrasting garage door gave it a character of its own.
From our experience working with them, Hepner are a great local builder: honest, straightforward and committed to the integrity of the build. Those qualities matter to us. It is satisfying to contribute our part when the care starts well before the painting does.
Our first projects with Platinum
Next came the beginning of our relationship with Platinum Residential Designer Homes, a Sunshine Coast builder with an established record of building awards. Our first work with them was on a development of eight terraces. We painted six of the eight homes.
The photographs show the development taking shape and the finished result: crisp white surfaces, dark screening, timber accents and bright interiors. Across six homes, the satisfaction came from bringing consistency to the painting while allowing the architecture and materials to speak for themselves.

For us, being trusted with those first projects meant a great deal. It was the start of a working relationship in which we could bring our standards to increasingly individual homes.
A Hamptons home on the waterfront
Our first standalone house for Platinum followed on South Diamond Drive, on the waterfront in Pelican Waters. This Hamptons-style home brought a different character again, with its gabled roofline, soft exterior colours and white detailing.
It was another meaningful step for us. Seeing our painting become part of a home like this gave us a lasting sense of accomplishment—and made us look forward to what we could work on next.

The pride is in the details

Our standards had not changed, but the opportunity to see those details appreciated had. There is a particular satisfaction in finishing a home when the builder values the care that has gone into it.
Much of that care happens before the finished photographs: preparing surfaces, working through the details and giving the quieter parts of a home the same attention as the spaces that make the first impression. That has always mattered to us, whatever the size or style of the project.
The people behind the painting
Of course, working together is not all serious faces and perfectly straight lines. There is room for Vanessa to strike a pose—and for a photo with a rather recognisable dog.

We have used Dulux paints for years, so the Dulux dog deserves a place in the story too. These little moments are part of the enjoyment we get from life as a husband-and-wife painting team.
Looking back at this chapter, what stays with us is the trust, the relationships and the feeling of leaving behind work we are proud of. The homes became more varied, and our belief in what we could bring to them grew.
We’re Terence and Vanessa, Reveal Painting. If you are planning a new home on the Sunshine Coast and care about the finish as much as the design, we would love to hear about it.
